In the hot summer, what comes to mind first? To beat the heat, isn't the first thing that comes to mind a cool swimming spot with friends or family? "Water parks," the most exciting places in summer, are loved all over the world and are operated in various countries. Surprisingly, there is a water park in North Korea too! Munsu Water Park in the Middle of Pyongyang, North Korea 🌊 <div class="se-component se-image-container __se__float-none"><figure><img src="https://ep-insight.s3.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws.com/public/54/North-Korea-Munsu-Water-Park.png" alt="" style=""></figure></div> Munsu Water Park, located in the heart of Pyongyang, North Korea, opened in 2013 and boasts a total floor space of over 109,000 m². It is said that Chairman Kim Jong-un devoted so much effort to this water park that he visited it seven times. (The lobby of Munsu Water Park is decorated with a full-length statue of Kim Jong-il. 👀) The park is divided into an outdoor section, which operates during the summer season from June to the end of September, and an indoor section, which operates year-round. This makes it a special place where travelers to North Korea, including residents of Pyongyang, can experience a unique cultural life. The outdoor section is equipped with 14 water slides painted in various colors, diving boards of 5m, 7.5m, and 10m, and a lazy river. The indoor section features everything from water slides to swimming tracks, saunas, restaurants, hair salons, and barbershops.
