The reason for this price spike is that the yield of apples and pears in South Korea has decreased due to abnormal weather conditions. This allows you to access the vegetation index, which highlights plant vitality that is invisible to the naked eye, beyond RGB satellite imagery. However, as we zoomed in on the NDVI difference images, we noticed significant differences in some farming areas. The red-highlighted areas show where the NDVI decreased, indicating that plants did not thrive as well. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the drop in apple and pear yields, but it is thought that the combination of lower temperatures, more rain, and higher humidity may have reduced crop quality or caused issues such as diseases and pests, affecting the harvest.</p><p><br></p><p>Vegetation indices and weather data provide an extensive overview of agriculture and the environment, making them ideal for managing, forecasting, and adapting to various crop productivity factors. Korea is dealing with rising consumer prices caused by changes in agricultural food costs. Grasping these elements can help manage the growth of crops and production from agriculture, even in the face of rapidly changing climate conditions, potentially stabilizing fruit prices. Satellite imagery could be an effective tool in this effort.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
